Commercial, Interior Design

Adong is a contemporary dining space conceived as a restrained architectural composition rather than a thematic interior. Inspired by the principles of Japanese architecture, the project translates harmony, rhythm, and material honesty into a refined restaurant environment shaped by light, proportion, and quiet restraint.

The client sought a refined dining environment that fosters concentration, intimacy, and togetherness, while expressing a clear architectural identity rooted in calmness and material discipline.

THE IDEA
THE IDEA

The concept is based on translating the essence of Japanese architecture into a contemporary spatial language in which proportion, rhythm, and restraint replace literal references and decorative motifs.

The concept is based on translating the essence of Japanese architecture into a contemporary spatial language in which proportion, rhythm, and restraint replace literal references and decorative motifs.

The main dining hall is organized around a restrained and disciplined spatial grid.

Concept +
Design Principles

Modular wooden wall panels, through their repetition, define the rhythm and scale of the space, while integrated indirect lighting emphasizes the horizontal order of the interior.

Interior +
Atmosphere

Charcoal-toned wood, graphite furnishings, and textured plaster finishes create a calm and subdued base, complemented by natural greenery and minimalist floral compositions.

The material palette remains restrained, yet atmospheric.

Suspended perforated metal volumes and a subtly illuminated bar with a stone texture introduce warmth and depth, allowing light to become the primary compositional element of the interior.

Lighting +
Construction

Adong offers a calm and intimate dining environment where architecture shapes emotion and light becomes the primary substance of the experience.

Realization +
Final Effect

The project redefines restaurant design as a spatial discipline rooted in calmness and proportion.
